This is kind of a shoutout to my dad, who insisted I read "Moby Dick" when I was in high school. I didn't care much for it, it was pretty impenetrable prose, but there was a big whale in it, I think.

Yupp, there are a lot of so-called literary juggernauts that, when you read them without that thought, aren't that good. Like Lord of the Flies... Catcher in the Rye... not bad, but not awesome.

I tried, didn't care for it and decided that I already got the message from the thousands of other references... So I skipped it :D

It's funny, my brother and I spontaneously referenced Lord of the Flies in a conversation the other day... I enjoyed that one... Catcher in the Rye I wasn't impressed with, really..
