So thanks to Sean F., I was informed that Brevity by Guy and Rodd had done a "Goodbye Kitty" strip today. I was immediately struck by how closely this hewed to a strip I did back in July 2009.

Obviously this was not overlooked by either Guy and Rodd, or the internet at large!

Brevity Comic Strip Apparently we are not the first in the world to think of this. After we had already sent it out to newspapers we discovered some similar ones online, including a whole strip that only does this joke. It's pretty good, so check it out if you get a chance...

So there we go! Do I have to start this crap up again, now that I'm "discovered"? How interesting...

Anyway, shout out to two guys who hate Kitty like I do. No harm done, dudes!

@Rodd - you obviously haven't read too deeply into the very labyrinthine web of copyright laws I've had to negotiate for merchandising and fair use.... it's a nightmare. Expect a visit by ninja lawyers tonight from Sanrio, totally irrespective of anything I might have done!

One could argue that it's just about distinctly different enough to be legally in the clear... but then again, how much leniency can we expect from a company that clad a house in pink Kitty stuff and owns a themed hotel?
